Classic Osaka Shot

If you ever find yourself in Osaka, this is the 'city scape' to see, the famous 'Glico Running Man' is the international symbol of 'city life' in Japan's second largest city. So, I did like any good tourist ought to, and sent a picture back home. The trouble is - I've been here too long, little things like famous city scapes aren't thrilling any more. But my language is keeping me an outsider - not you competent enough to get out there on my own and dig deep into the neighborhoods behind the 'classic shots' like any good local ought to.
So... "Here I am, stuck in the middle with you" and this familiar tune I'm singing is a foreign language. Time to fish or cut bait - I am determined to get talking. Soon.
I gotta get out there; I gotta see, do, live independent of friendly guides. Don't get me wrong, I am happy for each and every kind and generous person who has brought me in under their wing, but I want to reciprocate something within these relationships, give to the same infantile degree that I take at present.
Only way accomplishing that is a whole lot of damn hard work. I gotta be like that Glico marathon man; running forward into the future, arms open to whatever the new tomorrow brings, never giving up.
