my underwear is homeless

today i moved! it was a grueling trip - i live exactly 12 feet to the right of where i previously lived.
in all of wakakusa there were only two people who didn't have roommates, Megs and I. To top it off, Megs and I live right next door to one another - the solution seems pretty simple, huh?
Well, thanks to 'the Japanese way' it took more than three weeks - an IEO conference, a committee formation, then final vote by the entire dormitory. Heaven forbid I go about my own buisness without consulting every right-handed individual in all of Japan! But whatever, I got what I wanted, and if I hadn't than my 'American way' would have been to bitch and argue until I did.
Now I know what your thinking 'If you have the opportunity to have a room to yourself, wouldn't you want your own space?' but the truth of it is, I was getting lonely. I really wanted to continue my efforts to solidify a social group in the dorms, and be a part of the camaraderie. I already stand out enough, I didn't want to be a weirdo with no roommate anymore.
Besides that, Megs is a champ and she helps me out with my homework all the time, so I think that my studies may improve under her influence.
I am really happy already, Megs is so patient, I think she'll be a good match to my impulsive crazy tendencies.
It was a bit of a trick fitting all my stuff into one half of the room, over the past month or so I had gotten used to occupying twice that amount of space all by myself - but we made it work.
The only thing we couldn't find a drawer for was... my drawers. I think I'll hit the 100yen store (dollar store) tomorrow looking for cheap rubbermade knock-off's. In sum; my underwear is homeless, but I think I've made myself a happy home.
