Ajisai

Japanese culture embraces each season and takes the changing environment into their consideration always. The most famous example of this is the Sakura (cherry blossoms) of Spring, which is a season celebration almost like Christmas back in the states. But for the past month or so Hydrangea (or agisai) have been blooming all around Japan, so we are celebrating their presence.
Hydrangea’s will always remind me of Grammy Norma, and how she loved her hydrangea bush back at the little house on Percival street in Olympia. It's nice that such memories can be packed up in out minds and taken everywhere.
