fuji san and my sleeping roommate

The other night I was pondering my extension decision (SEE BLOG BELOW - AND IF YOU HAVE NOT COMMENTED YET... DO IT ALREADY! THEN COME BACK AND READ THIS!) when it dawned on me, I haven't climbed MT. Fugi yet. I totally want to climb mount Fugi, but it's really expensive and none of my Japanese friends are interested. Which I can understand, since I've never climbed Mt. Rainier. Yet, when I learned that I was coming to Japan, one of my first thoughts was "Oap, gotta go climb Mount Fuji now. That's just what you do."
Also, I haven't been to Tokyo yet, ot Hiroshima, or Nara, or even freaking Osaka-jo. What a lame tourist I am. I spend all of my time studying, talking with friends and hanging around bars. Not exactly different behavior than the states. Well, I don't have a job here, that's different at least. But anyway, if you want to come climb Mount Fuji with me, go ahead and let me know - I'll even buy you a bento, now isn't that an appealing offer?
****And now for something completely different****
I was studying my nihongo in the wakakusa shokudo this afternoon (for hours! muzukashi! ugh!) when i went upstairs to get something out of my heya. (just thought I would drop some terribly UN-impressive Japanese vocab there. You know, impress the ladies - hehe)
Well, to my surprise the whole room was dark and quiet. Megumi was cuddled up in bed taking a little afternoon nap. Call me crazy, but I was just so happy! She looked like a cat, or a baby, or some other such cute sleeping creature.
I almost took a picture for the blog, but I didn't because 1) I'm already misunderstood enough on account of linguistic limitations, I don't need to make myself any weird-er AND 2) I think it's an unwritten rule of roommate mutual respect that you not photograph one another when you are rendered physically incapable of expressing consent.
So, I didn't take a picture, but let me tell you, it was soooo cute!

Mo,

Bring a coffee one of these afternoons and I'll bore you my tales of Fuji-san.

You know, they say you are nuts if you come to Japan and never climb Mt. Fuji, but absolutely insane if you climb it twice!

Mo,

I like the coffee black, and my office is 1206. Hope to see you there.
