Helena is home to one of the most beautiful marble structures I have ever seen in my personal travels, the cathederal of St.Helena.

The girls, not raised Catholic as I was, had never actually gone to admire it's beauty, even though it is just a few minutes from their own home. Admittedly, traditional gothic Catholic Cathedrals can be intimidating, enigmatic monoliths to a non-church goer (I actually believe that is an intentional aspect of design, relic from the days when church WAS state and the law ruled with an iron fist) so I understand how being raised in a home without Catholicism, visiting the cathedral wouldn't be a part of the regular schedule. But simply from an educational, cultural perspective, it seemed like a shame that the girls had never been inside. So, I took the initiative to share this aspect of our shared heritage and my personal culture with them.
